Mahajana Education Society
Research Policy & Guidelines
Preamble
In the contemporary knowledge-driven world, research has become a fundamental component of higher education, contributing significantly to the advancement of knowledge, technological innovation, evidence-based decision-making, and sustainable societal development. Recognizing the vital role of research in enhancing academic quality and institutional reputation, Mahajana Education Society is committed to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and ethically responsible research culture among its faculty members, researchers, and students.
The Society believes that research not only enriches teaching and learning but also equips learners with critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, creativity, and innovation skills. Research activities encourage the generation of new knowledge, development of indigenous solutions to local and global challenges, and promotion of interdisciplinary collaborations that address emerging societal needs.
This Research Policy has been formulated to provide a comprehensive framework for promoting, supporting, monitoring, and rewarding research activities across all constituent institutions of Mahajana Education Society. The policy seeks to create an enabling environment that motivates faculty members and students to engage in quality research, secure external funding, publish in reputed journals, obtain patents, undertake consultancy projects, and contribute meaningfully to the academic and industrial ecosystem.
The policy is designed to align with the vision and mission of Mahajana Education Society and is guided by the principles and recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the regulations and guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the academic and research standards prescribed by the University of Mysore, and the quality benchmarks established by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and other statutory bodies. The policy also supports the objectives of national initiatives aimed at strengthening research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-academia collaboration.
Mahajana institutions have already demonstrated a strong commitment to research through various initiatives, including the establishment of the Mahajana Research Foundation, recognized Research and Development Centres, faculty development programmes, research methodology workshops, innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and active encouragement of student projects and scholarly publications. Building upon these strengths, this policy aims to further strengthen research infrastructure, facilitate collaborative and multidisciplinary research, promote ethical research practices, and enhance the overall research output and impact of the Society.
Through this policy, Mahajana Education Society aspires to emerge as a leading center of research excellence, innovation, and knowledge creation, contributing to national development, societal well-being, and global academic advancement while upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and academic ethics.
