The Department of Studies in Biotechnology, Post Graduate Wing of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College organized Two days hands-on workshop on “Molecular Biology Techniques” from 29th to 30th September 2021. .The programme was sponsored by Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (Department of Science and Technology Government of Karnataka). The programme was aimed at developing the understanding and providing hands-on experience on principles, and applications of molecular biology techniques for faculties and research scholar of LifeSciences, the participants were from various colleges of Mysuru and different cites of Karnataka.
The programme was conducted for a span of two days with technical sessions by Dr. Ramachandra Kini ,Professor,Department of studies in Biotechnology, Manasagangotri ,UOM, Mysuru-05 who delivered keynote address and gave an overview on “Techniques in Molecular Biology and its role in present Pandemic of COVID -19” , followed by 1st technical session on ”PCR techniques” By Dr. Kusuma L, Scientist C ,Insect Breeding And Genetics Department , CSRTI, Central silk Board ,Mysuru & 2nd Technical session on “Southern Blotting” Dr Gururaj H.B Co -founder Director E2E BIOTECH PVT LTD ,AIC Jyothy Institute of Technology,Thathaguni,Bengaluru-560082 followed by practical session on Genomic DNA isolation, quantification & electrophoresis ,PCR & Gel electrophoresis & Southern Blotting respectively .by Dr. Jyoti Bala Chauhan, Dr.Yogesh , Dr.Kirti Rani Saad & Ms.Smitha Grace S.R
