FORENSIC field Visit to Mettgali Police Station, Mysore

A one day workshop on “Drosophila: an ideal model for research in Biology” was organized for UG students of SDM college 3rd Jan 2022 at the PG Dept. of Studies in Biochemistry, PBMMEC, Mysuru. The workshop was organized by Dr. Girish Chandran, Coordinator-Biochemistry as part of MoU signed between the institutes for academic and research exchange. A total of 31 students of B.Sc. Biochemistry, participated in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Sainath Malligemadu, Principal, MMK SDM MM College, Mysuru. Orientation lecture was presented by Dr. S. R. Ramesh, Chief Scientist, Life Sciences, PBMMEC, Mysuru, and technical lecture was delivered by Dr. B. V. Shyamala, Professor and Chairperson, DoS in Zoology, University of Mysore, Mysuru. Practical sessions were taught by Dr. Girish Chandran and Dr. Raghavendra Hegdekatte. Faculty from MMK SDM MM college Dr. Wethroe Kapfo, Dr. Chaithanya Pandit and Dr. Kavitha were present during the workshop. All Covid-safety protocols were adhered to strictly.
