Report on ‘Project Research Methods’.

Special Lecture was conducted on 23rd December 2021 from 2:30pm to 4:30 pm for the students of III Semester MCA & M.Sc(CS) and V Semester MCA. Speaker of the Special Lecture was Dr. R. K.Bharathi, Associate Professor, Department of Compute Applications, JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru. It was organized ‘online’ on MS-Teams platform. The Session started with the inaugural address by Dr. C K Renukarya, Director, SBRR Mahajana First Grade College (Autonomous) PG Wing. He spoke regarding the importance of Research based Projects, IEEE Papers and National Education Policy 2020. Further, Smt. Rachana C R, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Studies in Computer Science, SBRR Mahajana First Grade College (Autonomous) PG Wing, introduced the speaker and welcomed everyone for the special lecture. Later, the session was handed over to the speaker Dr. R. K. Bharathi and the following are the highlights of the session.

  • Explained Stack concept with an example, Techniques of Algorithm and how algorithm can be implemented with next level.
  • Importance of subjects and how every subject is interconnected with each other, to implement any of the research projects.
  • Briefed regarding the drawbacks of ready projects and its flaws.
  • Own Project implementation with these two knowledge factors:
    • Learn & Earn
    • Do & Learn
  • Briefed on First Hand Resource to implement project ideas like Page Click counts ( Click Stream Analysis), Individual item clicks, Time spent over the pages, Device Data , GPS data, Sentimental analysis and so on.
  • Resources of data set for the projects for analysis, data analytics, prediction, prescription, recommendations, Visualization and so on with some more resources on the same.
  • Explained some projects title as an example and interpreted on need based projects like Ola, Swiggy etc..
  • Briefed on National Education Policy 2020 – Achieving full human potential, Leadership on global stage, 4D Definition, on Higher Education and so on.
  • Need of the Hour – Increasing level of Integration – Disciplinary, Multidisciplinary, Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary.
  • More to explore with AI a case study – AI in HealthCare, AI in Finance, AI in Agriculture , AI in E-Commerce.
  • Sailing the Seven C’s – Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Cross-Cultural Understanding, Computing Technology and Career Learning.
  • Q&A session, some questions were raised by the students and the speaker solved it through real time examples.
  • Speaker concluded with Pledge.
