Report on: SPEAK FOR INDIA DEBATE CONTEST.

The Department of Studies in Business Administration of Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre – Post Graduate Wing hosted World’s Biggest Debate Contest for college students “SPEAK FOR INDIA KARNATAKA EDITION 2022-23” in Association with The Times of India and federal bank on Friday 6th Jan 2023.

The Debate Contest ‘Speak for India’ is the world’s biggest debate contest for college students. This was an momentous occasion for our MBA Department. The event was a huge success, the contestants was restricted for 3 districts of Karnataka, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Mysore. The Registration for the debate Contest Started from 9:30 am onwards. The contest was conducted in 2 Rounds and the contestants who Qualified for the first round went into second round. The Participants were given an option to speak in English or Kannada.

The First round started from 10:15am and ended at 2:00pm. 150 students registered and participated in the first round. The first round was pick and speech, every contestant has to speak individually for 1 minutes. 27 students from our college participated in the first round.

The Second Round Started from 2:30 pm and ended at 5 pm. 30 participants from the first round was selected for the second round and they were divided into 5 teams consisting of 6 members in each group. All the team members were given t-shirts. In this round the team members were given a topic and 3 of the team members have to talk in favor of the topic and other 3 members have to talk against the topic for 2 minutes.

Out of 30 participants 7 participants has been shortlisted and qualified for the zonal level competition which is going to happen in Bangalore this year.

Dr. P Chandrashekar, Assistant Professor of MBA Department was the college coordinator with 4 student coordinators from MBA Department who managed and organized the contest.
