The Department of Studies in Business Administration, Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre, organized the Programme.

Purpose & Scope

The orientation program, themed “VIBGYOR – A Peep into the PRISM,” aimed to welcome the class of 2024-25 MBA students and introduce them to the academic and cultural ethos of the institution. The event was designed to emphasize the importance of the MBA program, foster a sense of belonging, and outline the key skills and learning objectives for the students’ journey ahead. By combining motivational insights, introductions to faculty, and an engaging environment, the program aimed to create a solid foundation for a fruitful and enjoyable learning experience.

The Brief of the Event

The Orientation Programme commenced with the rendition of Naada Geethe, instilling a spirit of cultural pride and unity among attendees. This was followed by a Welcome Address by Dr. Chandrashekar P, who warmly greeted the students and set the stage for the day’s proceedings.
The ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp, led by the distinguished Chief Guests—Dr. C. K. Renukarya (Director, PBMMEC), Dr. Vijayalakshmi Muralidhar (Secretary, MES, Mysuru), and Dr. S. R. Ramesh (CEO & Academic Advisor, MES, Mysuru)—symbolized enlightenment, knowledge, and a bright academic future for the students.

Prof. Harish Kodandera Machia, Head of the Department, introduced the team of faculty, non-teaching staff, and library members. This session gave students a comprehensive overview of the supportive team that would guide and mentor them throughout their MBA journey.

The Chief Guests delivered engaging and motivational speeches that resonated deeply with the students:

In his keynote address, Dr. C. K. Renukarya articulated the essence of an MBA programme as a gateway to holistic personal and professional development. He highlighted how mastering English communication acts as a cornerstone of managerial excellence, enabling graduates to thrive in global environments. He urged students to proactively build critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability skills, essential for excelling in today’s dynamic business landscape.

In her presidential remarks, Dr. Vijayalakshmi Muralidhar shared her vision of fostering a joyful and nurturing campus environment. She underscored the importance of happiness in learning and encouraged students to cultivate curiosity, collaboration, and creativity during their academic journey. She assured the students of the institution’s unwavering commitment to providing an environment conducive to their holistic growth.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Shilpa, Assistant Professor. She thanked the Chief Guests for their inspiring words, the faculty and staff for their support, and the students for their enthusiastic participation.

Post-inauguration, Dr. Vasanth Kumar Thimakapur, a distinguished Scientist, addressed the students on the topic of Agripreneurship Opportunities. He shared insights into the intersection of agriculture and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the scope of innovation and business potential in the agricultural sector. The session was both eye-opening and inspiring, encouraging students to explore entrepreneurial ventures in this emerging field. 

Day 2: Sessions on Academic Regulations and Alumni Interaction 

The day commenced with an enlightening session by Mr. Srinivas Thimmaiah, Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator, provided a comprehensive briefing on the academic regulations of the MBA programme. He elaborated on key policies, evaluation patterns, and academic expectations, ensuring clarity for students as they embark on their studies.

The second session featured an Alumni Interaction led by Mr. Sreekanth Rajan, an accomplished alumnus of the institute, and an entrepreneur. He shared his experiences, career trajectory, and insights into how the MBA programme shaped his professional journey. The session was both inspiring and motivational, providing students with a realistic perspective on leveraging their MBA education.

Day 3: Ice-Breaking Session and Campus Tour

The day three focused on fostering camaraderie and building connections among students through an ice-breaking session. Fun and interactive activities helped students familiarize themselves with their peers. This was followed by a campus tour, where students explored various facilities and resources available, giving them a sense of belonging and comfort in their new environment.

Day 4: Library and Computer Lab Walkthrough

The final day of the orientation programme emphasized the academic support resources. Students participated in a Library Walkthrough, where they were introduced to the vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources available by Librarian Mr Manohar. The session highlighted the importance of using the library effectively for research and learning.

Following this, a Computer Lab Walkthrough provided students with an overview of the technical resources and software available for academic and project purposes, ensuring they are well-equipped for the digital demands of the MBA programme.

The orientation programme successfully familiarized the students with the academic structure, resources, and campus environment, laying a strong foundation for their journey ahead.
