Industrial Visit to “Chromatogen Analytical Solutions”

Purpose and scope of the event

• The purpose of an industrial visit include learning about company policies in terms of production, quality, and service management and acquainting themselves with the working of instruments during the course curriculum.
• Industrial visit has its importance for students. Industrial visit is now considered as a part of curriculum activities for the development of the students.
• It provides students a chance to learn practically from theoretical knowledge through interaction, working methods, and employment practices in large industries. It gives exposure to current work practices against possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at school or in colleges.
• Industrial visits provide a wonderful opportunity to interact with industries and know more about the industrial environment, how the machines are working, and which principles they work for.
• Industrial visits provide students an insight into the real working environment, workstations, plants, assembly lines, machines, systems, and interact with highly trained and experienced personnel. Students get to learn a lot of things that will help in their development and also for the future.
• The students get an opportunity to learn something beyond the walls of their college. The students will get to know their interests and will provide a ladder so that they can climb the ladder step by step and achieve their goals. Industrial visits broaden the outlook of students with exposure to the working environment.

Details of Industrial Visit

Industrial Visit was organised by the department of chemistry on June 10, 2025 from 10 am to 4 pm under the supervision of Dr. Roopa R. A., Dr. Manasa H. S and Mrs. Anitha R in order to get the practical knowledge about “Bonding Science and Technology”, carried out by Chromatogen Analytical Solutions, Mysuru.

Chromatogen Analytical Solutions, Mysuru started from Aug-2017. Chromatogen is a highly sophisticated testing laboratory established in Mysore, It is located in Hebbal Industrial area with Built in area of about 7500sq.ft. They are highly qualified and skilled staffs with excellent experience in the field. They are well known in the market for quality, commitment and swift turnaround time. One Stop Solution for Analytical & Synthetic Needs – Synthesis of organic compounds, Custom synthesis of Novel molecules, Process Development.
Analytical Method Development and Method Validation – Chromatogen is at its excellence for Method Development and Method Validation studies are complies as per ICH and regulatory guidelines. Structural Elucidation of unknown and structural Confirmation of known compounds – Chromatogen is the one stop solution for the characterization of unknown and structural confirmation of known API’s, related substances, isomers, enantiomers, Diasteromers, Rotomers, positional isomers etc., Analytical Testing Services- Chromatogen provides Testing services for Pharmaceuticals, Raw materials and intermediated, Natural products/Phytochemicals, Adulterated foods and Pesticides, Dietary and Dairy products, Food and poultry products.

At present they have well equipped Analytical instruments – NMR 400MHZ, FTIR, HPLC-1, GCFID-HS, GCMS, UV, Water Purifier, pH Meter and KF Auto Titrator, PREP-HPLC.

Group observation:

• This visit was very helpful for students in future practical life and bring a positive change in their thinking and practical behaviour regarding education and specialising their technical skills.
• They got practical knowledge about the advancement in technology of machines, chromatography, spectroscopy instruments and other methods.
• Information on different parts and use of chromatography and spectroscopy instruments likely NMR 400MHZ, FTIR, HPLC-1, GCFID-HS, GCMS, UV, etc.,

M. Sc. Chemistry students were happy for organising Chromatogen Analytical Solutions visit, it was very informative for their practical skills regarding techniques and applied chemistry. They got knowledge on different types of instruments used in criminology, toxicology and chemistry sections.
