Embracing Earth Day: Planting Saplings for a Greener Tomorrow

Earth Day, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about environmental protection and sustainability, was celebrated with great fervor at the Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre, PG campus on the 22nd of April, 2024.

Spearheaded by Dr Preethi, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration, PBMMEC. With the distinguished presence of Dr. S. R. Ramesh, CEO & Academic Advisor of MES, and Prof. Harish K. Machia, Head of the Department of Business Administration, PBMMEC, along with enthusiastic students and faculty members from the Department of Business Administration, PBMMEC, the event marked a significant step towards nurturing our planet.

Under the vibrant sky and amidst the gentle whispers of nature, the Earth Day celebration commenced with a solemn oath-taking ceremony. Every individual present pledged their commitment to safeguarding our planet and maintaining a healthy environment. The oath, passionately rendered by Srusti, a second-year student, echoed the collective determination to contribute towards a greener, more sustainable future.

Following the oath-taking, the participants took up shovels and embraced the earth, symbolizing their dedication to nurturing life. A total of 12 saplings, including the majestic Sal tree, were carefully planted across the campus premises. Each sapling represented a promise, a promise to nurture, protect, and cherish our environment.

As the last sapling found its home in the rich soil, a sense of fulfillment enveloped the gathering. Earth Day was not merely a day of celebration; it was a call to action, a reminder of our responsibility towards Mother Earth. Through collective efforts and unwavering commitment, we can sow the seeds of change and cultivate a greener, more sustainable world for generations to come. Let us continue to nurture and protect our planet, not just today, but every day. Together, let us strive to be the guardians of our home, ensuring its beauty and vitality endure for eternity
