Details on Essay Competition

Essay writing competition was organised by the department of chemistry on November 14, 2024 from 10.30 am to 11.30 am on “Chemistry in Crime – Merits and Demerits” under the supervision of Dr. Roopa R. A. and Dr. Manasa H. S. at DOS in Chemistry, PG Centre, Mysuru.

The Rules and regulations for Essay Competition were given as:

  • Writing should not have grammatical error as well as overlapping of contents.
  • There should be structural coherence
  • Appropriate and reasonable
  • The evaluation will be made on the basis of content, coverage, facts, writing spirit inclined.

Totally 35 students from first and third semester were participated in the competition. The above mentioned rules and regulations were explained to the students.

The essay writing was judged on the basis of literary style, grammar and spelling sentence length and paragraph breaks enhance the clarity on the topic given. Original thinking relative to the topic. The four best essays were selected and placed for the winner position.
