“Education is a subject which has continued to evolve and extend its reach since the dawn of human history”, said Prof. VedPrakash, Former Chairman, University Grants Commission, New Delhi in his Graduation Address. He was speaking at the Second Graduation Ceremony of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College (Autonomous) held at APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium in the city today. Addressing the fresh graduates, Prof. VedPrakash spoke about the fierce competition in the professional world and how without diversification of skills, transition from one job to another would prove to be difficult. He threw light on the mismatch between education and employment and opined that vocational training institutes need to be strengthened to meet the demand of each sector by offering standardised programs of acceptable employability. He went on to advise the students to always remember that success is a journey, not a destination; learning is a continuous process and lastly, the success usually comes from stepping out of one’s comfort zone.
