Observation of Autopsy – Educational Visit

EDUCATIONAL VISIT – REPORT ON AUTOPSY 7/11/2022

As a part of the educational visit, the students of BSc. Forensic Science attended the observation of autopsy on 7 November 2022. Under the guidance of Dr.C.K.Renukarya, Principal Coordinator, Specialised Science Programmes, Mahajana PG Campus and Dr.Satish G.Chetty, Chief Coordinator and with the initiative taken by Mrs. Gunarekha B.S, Coordinator, . We visited Medical College, Mysuru with 33 students accompanied with the batch facilitator Ms.Vidyashree .
The main objective was to observe and understand the autopsy procedures and the regarding police procedures. The external physical examination and how the samples of internal organs are collected, preserved and the maintenance of chain of custody.
The police personals explained the protocols that has to be maintained before conducting an autopsy. Later under the guidance of Dr. Dayananda the autopsy was conducted, it was a suicide case-poisoning. They gave a detailed description of the samples that has to be collected according to the medico legal importance.
