ORIENTATION VISIT TO SHRI KSHETHRA DHARMASTHALA RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, popularly known as SKDRDP, is a charitable trust promoted by Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade. SKDRDP concentrates on the empowerment of people by organizing Self-help Groups (SHGs) on the lines of Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) and provides infrastructure and finance through micro credit for the rural people. On 29/11/23 from the department of social work we had been to SKDRDP near kuvempunagar in mysore.Madam Sujatha works as medical psychiatry in the centre gave orientation. Mr. Dinesh Pujari principal of SKDRDP started speaking.”SKDRDP was started in the year 1982,.It has been 40years.SKDRDP protects the sustainability and maintain transparency.He shared his experience regarding social work and graminaAbivruddhiyojana”.He continued saying that.”Though it’s 75 years of getting freedom in our country it is still difficult in getting all facilities for those who are financially poor.
There many programs in SKDRDP:-
Agriculture:- :shridhanya,PragathiBandhu,Women Self Help Groups.Young people Joint Liability Groups,KrishiMela,Dairying& Animal Husbandry,Yanthra,Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative ,Yantradhara,Kamadhenu Goshala, Harvester Bank, Green Energy Program and Carbon CreditTechnical Training/Farm Field School,Farmers Producers Company,Agriculture Extension,Millets Project and Organic Certification Programme, JVTI.
Community Development Programs:- GramaKalyana, Nammuru- NammaKere, KereSanjeevini, Shuddhaganga ,SujnanaNidhi, HinduRudrabhumi, Jnanadeepa:, Cleanliness drive, Nirmala Shraddha Kendra.
Women Empowerment programs:-Jnanavikasa, Vatsalya, .Gelathi
Health insurance programs :- Sampoorna Suraksha Health Insurance scheme, Aarogya Raksha Health Insurance scheme, Microbachat: micro-insurance, Pragathi Raksha Kavach.
Dinesh Pujari adds on saying that,”there are few more programs like: – linkages to banks, custom hire service centers,common service centre scheme, NPS and UNICEF.
He also shared many successful stories where SKDRDP programmers helped rural people in their hard times.
This visit was very useful as we all understood how SKDRDP works and had helped 53,87,445 members.
