Soft Skill Training Programme “Developing Positive Thinking Attitude and How to Make the Universe work for you”

Purpose and scope of the event

• Soft skill training allows students to study, learn and educate more effectively in the college. Every organization can put their students in a position to be successful in their roles by ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills, and soft skills are no exception.
• Soft skill training is important training that allows students to learn and improve their non-technical or personal skills.
• These involve how students interact with other students, including being able to communicate effectively with their classmates, be flexible, and understand and manage their emotions.
• When we provide soft skills training, it helps students both personally and professionally, and this is important for career that will have a strong workforce.
• To encourage the all round development of students by focusing on soft skills. To make the master students aware of the importance, the role and the content of soft skills through instruction, knowledge acquisition, demonstration and practice. To develop and nurture the soft skills of the students through individual and group activities. To expose students to right attitudinal and behavioural aspects and to build the same through activities.

Soft Skills is a very popular term nowadays, used to indicate personal transversal competences such as social aptitudes, language and communication capability, friendliness and ability of working in team and other personality traits that characterize relationships between people. Soft Skills are traditionally considered complementary of Hard Skills, which are the abilities to perform a certain type of task or activity. Soft Skills are strategic to be successful in personal and professional life then is essential for the students when they try to obtain any kind of job.

For this reason the department of Chemistry has conducted Soft Skill Training Programme On 11th July 2024 in Life Science Auditorium.of Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Center, under the supervision of Dr. Roopa R. A., Dr. Manasa H. S, Dr. Jagadish K, Dr. Dileep Kumar A. at DOS in Chemistry, PG Centre, Mysuru.

The function was started with invocation sung by second-year M.Sc., student -Nisarga, followed by lighting a lamp by the delegates. Satyakeerthi Jaykumar Founder and Proprietor of the Change Makers Career Academy was our special guest joined by our HOD, Dr. Roopa R. A., Dr. Manasa H. S, Dr. Jagadish K, Dr. Dileep Kumar A. were present on the dais, the students and non-teaching staff were assembled off the dais.

Dr. Jagadish K, Asst. Professor of chemistry department welcomed the gathering and gave a brief introduction about Satyakeerthi Jaykumar.

His introduction focused on the main points of his work and his accomplishments in strong communication skills, cross-cultural work experience, and excellent report-writing and event management skills. His experience working in diverse teams has taught me the importance of collaboration and adaptability.

During the session Satyakeerthi Jaykumar had given various live examples and motivated everyone saying how the life can be taken in positive way, how it helps in reaching the goals.

The session was opened for discussion for students for further information from resource person. Later vote of thanks was proposed by our student.

Dr. Dileep Kumar A, Asst. Professor of chemistry department welcomed the gathering in the second session and gave a brief introduction about Pavithrakala, Marketing Head of PAN India.

The second session was taken by Resource Person Pavitrakala had given talk on One stop platform for students seeking information on global opportunities for education, career, Life and Travel abroad. This helped a lot of students who have the plan to go abroad for carrier making. She showed how the Uniprep platform (Software) gives information about the language, culture, various courses, collages etc.

The lecture laid importance for the future betterment and exposure for the modern trends required to catch the various aspirations in students like higher studies, to begin new start-ups, Carrier development skills and programmes.

The session was opened for questioner from student’s side for further information from resource person. Later vote of thanks was proposed by our student.
