Special Lecture on Vaccine Development and Challenges

REPORT ON SPECIAL TALK CONDUCTED ON 14/12/2022

On December 14 th, 2022, a special lecture session was conducted in the college by the Department of Sciences of Mahajana PG Centre, Mysore under the guidance of Dr.C.K.Renukarya, Principal Coordinator, Department of Sciences, PBMMEC, Dr. Satish.G.Chetty , Chief Coordinator, Dr. Gunarekha B.S , Program Coordinator and the Batch Facilitators Ms.Bhavya, Mr.Siddaraju and Ms.Vidyasree. The special talk session was delivered by Dr.Mahadesh Prasad A.J, who is currently working as a Professor of Biochemistry at Mahajana PG Centre and Head of Mahajana Research Foundation.

The special talk was on the topic “Vaccine Development and Challenges”. It was focused on the importance of vaccines, its research and development methods and its effect on human body. The lecturer also gave a brief history of vaccines and its role in reducing the mortality rate during several pandemics this time. Then he was explaining about the types and categories of vaccine and the stages of its laboratorial preparation to the Industrial manufacturing processes and procedures. Another main focus of the session was the challenges faced in the vaccine development process. The special talk was very informative and productive. The session was an interaction between resource person and the students. There was question and answer session for clearing all of the doubts. It was a wonderful session.
