Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre, PG Wing of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, K.R.S. Road, Metagalli, Mysuru, Department of Studies in Computer Science had organized workshop on ‘Gender Sensitization’ in association with Department of Studies in Social Work for III Semester students of M.C.A & M.Sc. (Computer Science) on 24thJuly 2019 in PG Auditorium.

The students of M.Sc. Computer Science presented the naadageethe. Smt. Rachana C. R., Associate Professor and Head, Department of Studies in Computer Science welcomed the dignitaries and introduced the chief guest. Smt. Shruthi Prabhakar, Assistant Professor, DoS in Computer Science spoke about the event. The resource persons and facilitators of the workshop were Dr. Patricia Viego, Ms. Premajyothi D., Ms. Bhavana V. and Mr. Indushekara G. V. of Social Work department. The students of MSc Computer Science sang the Gender Sensitization Theme Song. Smt. Pushpalatha V., Chief Guest of the programme very nicely explained the need for gender equality. She gave a number of illustrations of how youngsters can become good human beings. Dr. C. K. Renukarya, Director of the PG Centre spoke about the importance of creating gender equality among men and women in the society. Dr. Vijayalakshmi Muralidhar gave the presidential remarks. Mr. Basanth Kumar H. B. proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Chaithra of III semester M.Sc. Computer Science compered the inauguration programme. The inauguration concluded with national anthem.

The workshop included a number of activities and group discussions to illustrate the importance of gender equality among the students. It highlighted about the current affairs on violence agaist women in Karnataka and in India. Ms. Premajyothi, the resource person for the workshop spoke about the various legal protective measures for the upliftment of women.
Certificates were distributed at the end of the workshop to the particpants.
