Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre, PG Wing of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College (Autonomous), Department of Studies in Computer Science had organized one day workshop on ‘Life Skills and Communicative Skills’’ for I Semester students of M.C.A on 31st December 2019 in the department of Computer Science.
Smt. Rachana C R, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Studies in Computer Science welcomed and introduced the resource person – Smt. Geetha Srinivasan from Bangalore. Smt. Geetha Srinivasan is an excellent Life-Skill Coach, holding Orientation Programmes to the Students, Teachers, Parents in Schools and Colleges as well as, professionals in the Corporate Sector. She has an Extensive teaching experience of over 3 decades, teaching Science and English for the High School sections. She is also a free-lance journalist, contributing to all most all the leading dailies and journals, writing both in Kannada and English.
The Workshop covered the following topics:
Qualities of a Leader, Qualities of a Team member, Skills required to be an Excellent leader and Team member, Communicative Skills, Inter Personal Relationships, Trust, Creative and Critical thinking, Delegating Responsibility, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Being Proactive, Empathy.
Skills to be imbibed for effective communication- Framework, Tone, Voice, Body Language, Awareness about Mannerism, Art of Public Speaking, and Stage Fear.
The last session concluded with feedback from the students. The workshop was held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
