General Library

The General Library of the PG Centre has a Comprehensive collection of books to cater to the requirements of faculty and students of all departments, except MBA & Tourism, for which there are separate Libraries. New books are being added on a continuous basis to update the collection. Reference section is provided in the Library where students can refer Books, Project Reports etc... Books on General Knowledge and current affairs are available for the use of students appearing for competitive exams.

The Library is fully computerized with KOHA Software (Open-Source Integrated Library System) along with Barcode system. Library subscribes to a good number of Journals, e-Journals, Magazines and Newspapers to enable the faculty and students to know the latest developments in their fields.

Borrowing Policy :

Library services: 2 borrower’s tickets will be issued per student. Students can borrow 02 books at a time for 10 days. Borrowers are responsible for all materials checked out to their accounts. Students are requested to promptly return books on date. Absence from college will not be accepted as an excuse for not returning the books in time. If the due date for return of book falls on a weekend or short holidays the book must be returned on the next working day. Disfiguring the pages, scribbling on pages, tearing pages, spoiling and injuring of binding will be treated as serious damage to books and in such cases they are either to be replaced by new copies or pay 2 times the cost of the book by the borrowers as the case may be. Borrower Cards are not Transferable.

Distinct Features :

The Library is fully computerized with KOHA Software (Open-Source Integrated Library System) along with Barcode system. Library provides Inter – library borrowing facility. Regular display of new arrivals, Newspaper cuttings on Career guidance, current topics in the library. The library is open from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm from Monday to Friday and from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm on Saturday.

Library Rules :

All students must make use of the library facility to enrich their academic excellence. Only bonafide members are allowed to enter the college library along with Identity Card, which must be produced as and when it is demanded by the library staff or college teaching staff. Complete silence must be maintained in & near the library. Students should not bring Walkman or any electronic instruments and eatables inside the library. Using the Cell Phone in the Library is strictly prohibited. Infringement of the library rules will result in the withdrawal of the library facility from the students. In case of any difficulty, readers can approach the Librarian.
