A Special Talk on “Entrepreneurship Opportunities & Challenges”

Dept. of Tourism & Hospitality arranged for a special talk by Ms.Roopa Rajan N, Founder & Partner Raswath–Legacy Foods on “Entrepreneurship Opportunities & Challenges” on 30/8/2019 between 11.00 a.m and 1.30 p.m in Tourism Auditorium. The aim of the event was to create awareness of Indian traditional & organic food significance and to motivate the students to grow to be an entrepreneur in the hospitality sector.

Under the guidance of Director Dr.C.K.Renukarya & direction of Cdr.Satish H.N, Head (Tourism & Hospitality) the event was organized.

Ms.Roopa Rajan N focused on the evolution of our sector from Santhe (Village Market) to Grocery shops then now towards Malls.  During our societies, progress towards modern trends & technology how the eating habits of Indians, especially south Indian got chanced & influenced by western culture was discussed. She created awareness to look back to our customs & traditions related to food culture and advised us to reposition our society’s food habits. Further, she directed our young students to interact with their grandparents to know about our food value chain. She motivated the students to start up their own business ventures with unique traditional concepts related to food items and lead the society in a healthier manner. After the session, female students had an interesting group discussion with the speaker of the day about the role of women in entrepreneurship development in modern society.
