Address by Dr K Anantha Gowda
Dr Anantha Gowda being a former Director HR in Jubiliant Generics Ltd. took the podium by series of his experiences during the Corona peak time. He advised the gathering to selfanalyze themselves and understand their strengths and weaknesses for prospering in career. As per him, changes are bound to happen and the gathering comprising of young upcoming management professionals should be ready to embrace the change driven challenges. Pandemic has changed every scenario and every management professional needs to adapt and adopt as per situational demands. Study, seek and succeed; imagine what is up ahead and prepare today. The business leadership have gained a lot and everything have evolved irrespective of Media trying to build fear among the population about corona. The organization and industries have realized the need to change and adapted as per scenarios arising out of crisis. Any given organization have requirements and the gathering should seek all information and ready themselves as per the requirements of organizations. Everything is online now; it is the new norm; organizations nor employee force never imagined this kind of remote workplaces before the pandemic. How anyone sees the change, adapt and adopt is very essential for being a successful employee in post pandemic times ahead. Pandemic not only changed the way business is done, but it also changed the entire atmosphere at the organizations. Every employee has started to keep in touch with one and all in a better way than what it was before. Communication is not to be thought nor it can be thought. One has to act on one’s own as per the situations. All old management personnel have evolved and acquired digital skills due to the pandemic situation. If an old management professional who is already settled in a dignified position at organization seeks and adjusts themselves to adapt to the new digital norm, the gathering should not take it easy when it comes to acquiring digital skills. If digital skills are not acquired now, it will be too late for anyone to climb up the ladder of success in career. There are no ready-made answers for every situation, one has to analyze and act situationally irrespective of their functional area like Finance, HR or Marketing. Engaging employees with the management have increased the transparency and motivation factor of employees in any given organization. If organization is transparent, it definitely expects its employee to be dedicated, skilled, answerable and committed. Every stream management personnel be it HR, Marketing or Finance are HR managers by default. Multi skilling, out of the box thinking, flexibility and well-balanced attitude towards adapting to changes will yield the aspiring management professionals best results and increases the employability.
Address by Shri Ravichandra Bekal
Shri Ravichandra being the founder and consultant at RB Consultancy, spoke avid aspects of the corona and its implications in the industry. He narrated terminologies AC DC BC. That is, ‘Before Corona’, ‘During Corona’, ‘After Corona’. BC referred to Economy state and opportunities before corona, DC referred to changes and challenges which were very new and situationally demanding stages, AC referred to Economy state and changes which are bound to happen and restructure the atmospheres across segments. He explained various aspects of present and past economic incidences, how it will shape the future. As per him, automation is in cross roads and it is very concerning at the moment. Because fear of insecure future has risen and it is hitting the production capabilities of organizations. Peace time strategy is different than War time strategy. He gave a sentence, ‘Battle won but lost everything’. He drew correlation between War and Corona situation by explaining the struggled state of economy and Government’s successive efforts which succeeded in eradicating Corona. As the economy is down, organizations have reduced the unnecessary businesses, hence it is in the hands of aspiring management professionals to upskill and multi-skill themselves for facing the more challenging post pandemic situational demands arising out of crisis.
Address by Ms. Savitha Gowda
Ms. Savitha being HR APAC Manager at World Wide technologies took the podium by explaining about the ‘Nokia’s’ fall. She explained how rigid was the Nokia for adapting change and later on how they got evicted from the market due to their improper strategies all against the changing scenarios. She insisted the gathering to read a lot out of the syllabus and enhance the knowledge beyond what is regular like any other person. She narrated about what HR Manager expects from any candidate and echoed to be professionals by opening LinkedIn profile. As per her, organizations will expect the future employees to be future ready with as many skills possible to learn and adaptive, flexible and positive to the changes. She insisted that the gathering comprising of future management professionals to not replicate the resume. Resume should be unique and showcase our knowledge and accomplishments which should be known and answerable by us if and when asked in interviews in the future. Being brave and answerable, honest and empathetic, managing priorities with technical knowledge will enhance the employability and growth prospective of the gathering. Multitasking, multiskilling, digital collaboration, crisis management, problem solving attitude etc., will come along way in career and enhances one’s growth rate in their careers. Excel, PPT, Outlook are very much sought off software skills in BC, DC and AC. Technical knowledge alone will not be sufficient to succeed in future as per Ms. Savitha Gowda.
