Purpose and Scope of the event:
National Pharmacy Week acknowledges the invaluable contributions pharmacists and technicians make to patient care in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare settings. Celebrated the third full week in October, “Pharmacy Week” is a time to recognize the powerful impact you make on your patients. (ashp.org).
Details of the talk/event/activity
The Resource persons from JSS College of Pharmacy enlightened the students about the importance of Pharmacy research, ethics and regulations in the pharmaceutical practice. Following the talk, the students participated in an essay competition about PCOS, cancer prevention and drug abuse/prevention. Dr. Mahadesh, Dr. Girish and Ms. Rayana coordinated the program.

Students of M.Sc. Biochemistry 3rd semester won prizes in the Essay Competition:

2. Ananya Bhatta, Second Prize – PCOD
3. Sindhu JS, Second Prize- Cancer Prevention
4. Ms. M. Shanmuga Priya, First Prize-Drug abuse
A brief profile of the Resource Persons
Dr. Sidharth, Dr. Acsa Paul, Dr. Suhail and Ms. Karthika Paul from JSS college of Pharmacy are faculty of various esteemed departments like departments of Pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology. They have both academic teaching experience and research experience.
Target audience was M.Sc. Students of Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biochemistry of 1st and 3rd semester. The number of participants was 90.
