The department of Social Work in collaboration with IWC of Mahajana PG centre and Motherhood hospitals had organized a programme for the women staff and students of the PG centre titled “Navigating the Journey through PCOD, PCOS, and Menopause – A Women’s Health Awareness Programme”

Women’s Health Awareness Programme titled “Navigating the Journey through PCOD, PCOS, and Menopause.” The programme aimed to empower women with knowledge and tools to better manage and navigate the challenges associated with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Polycystic Ovarian Disorder (PCOD), and the menopausal transition.

PCOD, PCOS, and menopause are crucial phases in a woman’s life, each bringing unique health challenges. The awareness program aimed to educate and support women in understanding these conditions, fostering early detection, and promoting holistic well-being.

2. Objectives:

  • Raise awareness about PCOD, PCOS, and menopause.
  • Provide accurate information on symptoms, risk factors, and preventive measures.
  • Encourage open discussions and reduce stigma around women’s health issues.
  • Empower women with tools to manage their health through lifestyle changes and medical interventions.

3. Programme Structure:

  • Understanding PCOD, PCOS, and Menopause.
  • Lifestyle management for hormonal balance.
  • Nutritional guidance for women’s health.
  • Mental and emotional well-being during these life stages.
  • Available medical treatments and interventions.

4. Target Audience:

The program was designed for women staff including teaching and non-teaching staff of PG centre and girls students of various departments.

5. Partnerships: The programme was organized in collaboration with Motherhood hospital, Mysuru

Dr. Shwetha Nayak Consultant – Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Gynecology and Laparoscopic Surgery, Motherhood hospital, Mysuru was the resource person along with Dietician Ms. Neethi, Clinical dietician, Motherhood hospital, Mysuru. Dr. Bhavana , Asst Professor and Head of Social Work Department and the co-ordinator of the programme introduced the guests and welcomed the gathering. The session was taken over by Dr. Swetha and Dr. Neethi. The programme ended with a long interaction with the audience
