Report: Resume building skills for a successful career.

The workshop was conducted on 30th August 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for the students of IV Semester M.Sc. Computer Science & MCA, and VI Semester MCA. The trainer for the workshop was Ms. Manisha Belani. She has a very vast experience in the area of soft skills. The workshop began with the introduction of the trainer by Smt. Rachana C R, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Studies in Computer Science, SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, PG Wing. Further, Dr. C K Renukarya, Director, PG Wing of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, gave the inaugural address stating the importance of soft skills, resume writing and interview skills.

The Session was taken over by the trainer with ice breaking session which involved few questionnaires. Below are the topics covered in the workshop:

•  Definition, meaning of SWOT analysis and its usage.
•  Importance of Resume writing
•  Expectations of Employers
• Do’s and Don’ts of resume writing
• Significance of Objective statement
• Format and resume and cover letter
• Difference between resume and cover letter
• Commonly asked interview questions
  • Tell me about yourself.
  • What are your strengths and weakness?
  • What are your interests and hobbies?
  • Why should I hire you?

Further, QA session was conducted by the trainer which had 10 questions and it was done through polling, finally vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.Shivumanjesh P Assistant Professor, Department of Studies in Computer Science, SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, PG Wing.

Around 60 students attended the online workshop.
