The Cancer Awareness Programme, organized by the department of Social Work, took place on 08.02.2023 at MTA auditorium, PG centre campus. The primary objective of the programme was to raise awareness about cancer, its risk factors, early detection, prevention, and the importance of support for cancer patients. The event successfully engaged participants through various informative sessions, interactive discussions followed by hair donation cut-a-thon. The programme was organized in collaboration with Bharath institute of Onchology, Inner wheel clun of Nanjangud and Diya foundation.

Programme Highlights:

  1. Inaugural Session: The programme began with an inaugural session, featuring opening remarks by [Key Speaker’s Name], who emphasized the significance of cancer awareness in our society. [Organizer’s Name], [Designation], welcomed the attendees and outlined the agenda for the day.

  3. Q&A Session: An interactive question-and-answer session provided attendees with the chance to clarify doubts and seek expert advice on various aspects of cancer, including prevention, treatment, and support.
  4. Impact and Way Forward: The programme successfully achieved its objective of raising awareness about cancer and empowering participants with knowledge to make informed decisions about their health. Participants expressed a greater understanding of the importance of early detection and pledged to share their newfound knowledge with their networks.
  5. Poster making and Prize distribution: The programme also included a poster making competition sponcored by the innerwheel club of Nanjangud. there were 24 posters out of which 3 prizes and one consolation prize were distributed for the winners
