SBRR MAHAJANA FIRST GRADE COLLEGE (Autonomous), PG Wing KRS ROAD, METAGALLI, MYSORE – 16 Report on online workshop “Introduction to Apple App Development Using Swift” organized by DoS in Computer Science in coordination with Apple Inc.,India on 12th August 2020.
Resource person Mr. Shibu M.V.,Senior Techno Commercial Manager, Redington, India, started the session with specifying the importance of mobile application development. He also focused on the skills and technology needed for an App development.
The points he focused in the workshop:
- Mobile application developers have huge opportunity in Apple IOS App development.
- Apple IOS have strong backward support system and also the fragmentation of operating system is very less.
- The Apple App developer can develop the application both customer App(Personalized) as well as business App.
- There is worldwide need for mobile application development. Comparing Android App developers the Apple App developers have more opportunities.
- There is range of technology framework through SDK of IOS for an APP development.
- He given an introduction to XCode. XCode is an Apple supported IDE for the development of an APP. Swift is an open source programming language, using which the developer can develop an App on XCode for any Mac machine.
- He showed the creation of framework on Xcode.
- He also showed demo on working of Swift code on XCode to change the background color of mobile screen.
- He suggested some books for the learning the Swift programming language.
