Current research interests: Rural entrepreneurship – Current research interest is in rural entrepreneurship. One of the major challenges faced by
rural people is lack of knowledge and awareness with regard to the significance of rural entrepreneurship as rural population doesn’t show much interest in choosing entrepreneurship as their career. For economic development of any country or region rural entrepreneurs play a very important role. Rural entrepreneurship is an important solution for the burning issues such as unemployment, poverty, development of backward and rural areas, migration of population. Rural youth play a vital role in addressing these issues by self-employment. Research based progamme can address the issues related to problems faced by rural entrepreneurs and encourage entrepreneurship in rural region.
Doctoral Research: The doctoral research was undertaken to evaluate the corporate governance in nationalized banks in India. The study helps to evaluate the corporate governance disclosure level and its effects on bank performance and also to ensure that banks are governed to the best interest of shareholders. The compliance of corporate governance ensures growth and stability reducing perceived risks and builds confidence thus promoting
good stakeholder’s relationship. It highlights the need to analyze and improve the existing corporate governance practices and suggest improvements for increasing competitiveness of the Nationalized banks performance in India. The study focuses on corporate governance practices in Indian Banks with special reference to Nationalized Banks. The research finding shows that the corporate governance has a significantly positive impact on the bank performance. The study provides a useful framework to improve and to implement better corporate governance process and structure in the bank.
