Dr. Bhavana V

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR & HOD

Current Position: Assistant Professor and Head
Qualification: MSW, PGDHRM, PhD
Teaching Experience: 9 years
Courses offered: Masters of Social Work
Current research interests: As a researcher dedicated to advancing AI for social good, my work is driven by a profound commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for the betterment of society. In my pursuit, I am continually exploring innovative ways in which artificial intelligence can be harnessed to address pressing challenges and foster positive impact across diverse domains.
Central to my research is the belief that AI has the potential to revolutionize healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, humanitarian aid, and social justice. By developing robust algorithms, harnessing big data analytics, and embracing interdisciplinary collaboration, I aim to contribute to solutions that enhance human well-being, promote equity, and safeguard the planet.
Moreover, I am deeply cognizant of the ethical imperatives inherent in AI research, consistently striving to embed principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability into the design and deployment of AI systems. I recognize the importance of engaging with stakeholders, listening to diverse perspectives, and proactively addressing concerns related to privacy, bias, and accessibility.
In essence, my research endeavors are driven not only by technical innovation but also by a profound sense of social responsibility. By embracing the transformative potential of AI for social good, I aspire to contribute meaningfully to building a more inclusive, sustainable, and equitable future for all.
Doctoral Research: As a researcher deeply engaged in studying the mental health dynamics of adolescent girls in both residential and non-residential school environments, my journey has been profoundly insightful and impactful. Through rigorous investigation and compassionate inquiry, I’ve delved into the complex interplay of factors influencing the psychological well-being of these young individuals.
My work has unveiled the intricate relationships between social dynamics, academic pressures, family support systems, and individual resilience in shaping mental health outcomes among adolescent girls. By conducting comprehensive assessments, collaborating with educators, psychologists, and community stakeholders, and implementing evidence-based interventions, I’ve strived to create meaningful avenues for support and growth.
In residential schools, where students live away from home, issues of homesickness, adjustment challenges, and peer dynamics often intersect with mental health concerns, demanding tailored approaches to address their needs effectively. Conversely, in non-residential settings, factors such as academic stress, social dynamics, and familial relationships play pivotal roles in shaping mental well-being.
Through my research, I aim not only to illuminate the complexities of adolescent mental health but also to advocate for holistic, compassionate approaches that prioritize prevention, early intervention, and the creation of supportive environments conducive to flourishing adolescent development. As we continue to navigate this crucial terrain, my commitment remains steadfast: to champion the mental health and well-being of adolescent girls in all educational contexts.
