Current research interests:
- Synthesis of a novel biopesticide for pest control in food grain storage to minimize the hazards of chemical pesticides on human and environment.
- Focused to work on Spectrofluorimetric and spectrophotometric assay for quantification of glucose and uric acid in human biological samples.
- Developing new enzyme assay.
- Computational work.
Doctoral Research:
My research area mainly focussed on the enzyme assay, method development for the quantification of different enzymes, enzyme kinetics and biological application. Important work done on the enzymes is:
- Investigated method for quantification of glucose in human serum sample by coupling of 4-aminoantipyrine (4-AAP) and Iminodibenzyl (IDB) in the presence of bienzyme peroxidase (POD)/glucose oxidase (GOx ). The proposed method was applied for the quantification of glucose in human serum samples and results were comparable with the enzymatic kit method.
- Developed simple and sensitive spectrophotometric assay for quantification of H 2 O 2 , on the basis of coupling of iso-nicotinicacidhydrazide (INH) and pyrocatechol (PC) as chromogenic co-substrates in presence of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) The proposed method has been applied in the estimation of H 2 O 2 in five different animals milk samples like goat, sheep, cow, buffalo and milk available in market using and rain water samples.
- Established direct spectrophotometric assay for quantification of peroxidase activity in the presence of para-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride (PPDD) and 8-hydroxyquinolene (8-HQ) as chromogenic co-substrates. The developed method was successfully applied to study the effect of blanching treatment of peroxidase in sapota and fig fruit extracts.
- Developed rapid method for determination of tyrosinase enzyme activity. The proposed method was applied to study the tyrosinase inhibition activity using mango seed extract.
- Bienzymatic method developed for quantification of uric acid in human serum and urine samples.
- Developed methods to study the antioxidant activity of some fruits, vegetables and spices.
